The people you meet are the ones you listen to, who advice you and share their thoughts with you. The things they say enter your mind and change you for better or worse.
The books you read connect you with the author. You learn about the author's experiences so that when you come against similar situations, you dont make the same mistakes.
The bible is the book of all books. Filled with good and bad examples. It shows us what happens when you follow God's ways, and the end of the road for those who continue to do wrong. Learn from the bible.
Pythagora used his whole life to come up with Pythagora's theory. But you and I don't have to spend our lives doing the same because we learn from his.
So before you pick up anything to read, watch or be entertained with, know that it will enter your mind and affect the way you think.
It is better to be affected by things that will make your life move forward. Renew your mind with the things you allow to enter it. Read better books. Associate with better people.
The bible says that we must guard our heart with all care and diligence, just as a parent watches over a child, making sure its not affected by wrong influences.
Only let those you want influencing you become your close associates. Provers 13:20 says those who walk with the wise will surely become like them.
